Governing Body
DPA's Local Governing Body
DPA’s governors play an important role in trying to ensure that every student in the school gets the best possible education.
Governors are required by Law to focus on three core strategic functions:
1. Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
2. Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, plus the performance management of staff;
3. Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent and the academy continues to succeed.
The Local Governing Body are the strategic leaders of the school. The Executive Headteacher with his Senior Leadership Team lead and manage the school on a day-to-day basis.
Each governor is a volunteer except the Executive Headteacher. Once appointed they will serve for four years, after this time of service they can be re-elected, re-appointed or replaced. hereFrom September 2021 the Governors adopted ‘The Circle Method’ of six Full Governor meetings a year. On the 1st February, 2023 DPA joined Esteem Multi Academy Trust.
