Mental Health & Wellbeing
At Derby Pride Academy student wellbeing is at the heart of our provision as research has shown that one in ten young people will experience a mental health issue at any one time. We are committed to supporting students with their emotional health as this will enable them to thrive academically.
Our Designated Senior Lead for Mental Health is Ms Boulton, who has successfully completed training with The Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools . Should a parent or carer be concerned about a students emotional well-being please contact Ms Boulton 01332 349616.
Mental Health Award
We are delighted to share with you that Derby Pride Academy has now been awarded the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools Award at Bronze Level.
The Carnegie School of Education based at Leeds Beckett University and Minds Ahead CIC have developed the School Mental Health Award to give schools and Academies a framework for whole school mental health development. By embracing the ideals of the award, we are demonstrating a deep commitment to working towards excellent practice as we place the mental health and wellbeing of our pupils and staff at the core of our Academy alongside our commitment to have a rich whole school culture where all members of our Academy community can thrive.
