Coronavirus update-temporary school closure to all pupils
From Monday 30th March 2020, we have now taken the decision to fully close the school to all children temporarily until further notice.
As advised by the government, we opened the school all last week (23rd March-27th March 2020) for the children of key workers (eg NHS staff, Police, others in frontline services) and children with certain needs. To date we have had no pupils attend the school, and parents are telling us that they will not be sending their children to school during this crisis.
What we will continue doing while your child is at home
Your child's learning is of course important to us, so we will continue to help your child to learn. Resource packs have been hand delivered to your home address. There is a significant amount of work in those packs, and at least enough to keep pupils going for a number of weeks.
We will continue to call you at least twice per week and we will ask that we speak directly to your child on at least one of these occasions. Please relay any problems to the staff member who calls you and we will endeavor to support where we can. It is really important that we maintain contact with you and your child during this period. If we are unable to make contact, a home visit will need to be made by us or another professional. We want to avoid this at all costs and would urge you to like our Facebook page if you can and send us a message so we can keep in contact in this way.
We will be sending food vouchers to your home address. Please bear with us on thus as there is a significant backlog with the supermarkets providing this service.
This is as much as we know right now and we appreciate your continued patience as we deal with this ever changing situation. We understand that this latest news will have an impact on you and your family and that it is far from ideal, but we will continue to keep in touch with any updates as the situation develops.
If you want to get in touch to share any concerns, please use our messenger service via our Facebook page, staff pick these messages up 24/7, or alert our staff when they call you.
Remember that if you or your child feels ill and you want to know what to do next, please use NHS 11 online.
Thank you for your continued support.
