Derby Pride Academy gets the Maximize treatment

What could be more important than unlocking the potential of students and along the way, giving them the self-belief to set goals and head off after them?

Last Friday, Derby Pride Academy welcomed the study skills company, Maximize to deliver a motivational study skills programme to its students.

The event took place at Pride Park, the home of Derby County Football Club. Led by presenter Richard Brown, a former PE teacher and Headteacher, 25 students and supporting staff enjoyed a fast moving, interactive seminar.

The techniques of world memory champions, revision planning approaches and stress management approaches were combined with inspirational stories of ordinary people doing extraordinary things. Memorable stuff!

Presenter Richard Brown commented:

‘Maximize seminars bring together study skills approaches that really do work and achievement stories which open the eyes of students to the fact that with the right attitude, most things are possible. The combination of the two produces lasting impact’

Event organiser Robin Foster, Assistant Vice-Principal at Derby Pride added:
